That sucks huge!

All things considered, at least no one was in the SS when this knucklehead plowed into it.

Hope everything goes well on the upcoming paperwork etc kinda stuff.

Or you could use the insurance money to buy a 2LT along with a hyundai to park behind it.

If the moron is insured his insurance company will have to reimburse you for a rental. Likely they will cover the rental only and few or none of the additional charges the rental company will tack on. When my wife's Forester was rear-ended, the guy's insurance company said they would pay up to $32/day or so for a rental. They wanted me to rent from Enterprise, who promptly gave me a car with 3 different kinds of tires on it (1 with bald tread). Anyway, talk to the guy's claims agent, find out the rental limitations, set it up and you will have a rental until they process the claim.

If the vehicle is totaled, they will stop paying for the rental on the day they cut you a check, as that is when they have fulfilled their financial obligation.

If the guy isn't insured then rental reimbursement will depend on whether your insurance policy includes rental coverage.

Just be thankful you weren't in it!

Good luck!

I thought you could only sue for pain and suffering or medical bills.

Granted, there is some pain and suffering for losing the SS....

I am glad no one was in the car at the time! Good luck with finding a replacement for your SS!
