Ouch dude. I have not encountered that in my "performace seat". I know little about electrical stuff, but are you sure nothing is "charged" in your car.

Donnie....

If you're married, touch your wedding ring to a piece of metal in the car....before you get out. You're probably conducting static electricity between the seat and your butt. Grounding with the ring may take care of it.

Some people attach the chain right to their belt loops so they can achieve the "I got a tail" look.

You know, I instantly replaced my mats in the car with rubber ones before I drove off the lot (2 months ago), and I have never got shocked once. I think the people who said the issue is with the carpet are correct.

It's just like when you are in your house on carpet...

I had a 98 neon that used to shock the piss out of me every time I got out of it. It drove me crazy. I found spraying the seat with Static Guard (the stuff for your clothes in the blue and orange can) would provide relief for a couple weeks. you can get it in the laundry section almost anywhere.

where did you find that? ebay?

i live in houston texas. i never had this problem before in any other car i had here. but this is the first "new" car i bought since 98. all my others were used, perhaps they were already broken in... so far to remedy the charge i just grab part of the metal on the door before i get out, i just forget sometimes..lol.
