I traded in my Caddy CTS for my SS to be used as a business vehicle (a FUN one).

My concern is if I ever had a breakdown on a business trip in the middle of nowhere. For this reason I went with the GM upgrade. (GM has to do the "tow and go").

I'll probably keep the SS when I need another business sedan (I have a ringing in my head that says "Camaro"). Once that happens, I see Trifecta in my SS' future.

My last car was also a Cadillac, DHS though. I do love the camaro but the SS is practical for my business and it is very "ME". Once I have the money for my upgrades it will be even sweeter which I find hard to imagine.

I negotiated the "Stage 1" upgrade at time of sale. It took 3 weeks for the dealer to get it and another 2 weeks to arrange installation.

I followed all the break in procedures and only in the last week before the big day did it get run hard.

When it was installed I waited at the dealership for it to be done. The tech DID NOT take it for any 'joy ride.'

Never would I trust anyone to 'test drive' a car that had a performance upgrade owned by myself.

One of my past jobs was at a Lincoln/Mercury dealer in the parts department. The new Cougar 2.3 turbo just came off the truck and there was nearly a fight to see who would 'test drive' it first. That poor car got 'test drove' to the point the motor 'seized'! After it cooled down it ran fine and was sold as a new car.

But back to today and the HHR SS....electronic controls make it doubtful if a flogging would hurt anything and that was a good story!

I only have 17000 miles on mine and after all the mods, I would say that this vehicle is one of the best I've ever owned. The gas mileage is still outstanding and quick as hell. My Camaro and T/A friends don't even think about making fun of it and really seem to like it. The Stage kit brings it to a whole other level.
