Thumbs down Z06 in the snow!!

My 2007 Z06 will never see snow and all Z's have aluminum frames and road salt can and will get inside and eat them up. Not only the frame but most of the suspension parts are cast aluminum. I know one thing when I put foot in it on dry roads it will be all over the road and I only have 505 HP I would never think of trying this in the snow. If it is to take photos in your driveway fine, But to take $80,000 to $100,000 car seems to be more money then brains.

I open it in the vent position every time I drive whether its winter or not. I've left my sunroof open like that several times in the winter too.

Well, the customer ok'd it. The magazine the shots are for wanted it in the snow. And it goes overseas in a short time anyways, where it WILL be driven in the snow.

That car got washed 15+ times that day, so don't you worry. This wasn't our first rodeo.

Physics have nothing to do with it. A good driver in a FWD (or RWD) is much better then some idiot in a AWD that can't drive in the snow. But thinks that since he has AWD he can go anywhere. Too bad this fits most that buy AWD or 4x4 vehicles.

Even after 10 years of living outside the rockies, I still had no issues last year in NY in the snow. This is FWD, with no traction control.

My wife has driven her RWD TBSS w/ mostly bald tires this winter, so far no issues

I drove both my 2001 Mustang GT and my 2004 Pontiac GTO through blizzards and unpaved roads. I had zero problems and both were rwd and the gto was around 300hp at the wheels. The Mustang was Auto and the GTO was manual and i felt i had more control with the manual.

I don't care much for the SS body trim. I'd much rather have a sleeper in standard 1LT trim but with the SS mechanicals under the hood and suspension, etc.

You can debadge the SS and swap out the ground effects & wheels to a LS or LT owner for even money I'd bet. They'd probably supply the labor too!

Snow?.........must be that white stuff I see on the mountaintops around here. I avoid casual contact with the stuff at all costs.
