I'm currently in San Jose... just moved out here last weekend, living in a hotel for a few months until my family can follow. The HHR cargo area is bigger than my room at the hotel

Yes the bracket was on the car when I first saw it. Must be the dealer "policy". Anyway I'm not complaining that its there although I would have preferred it not be. I'm looking for a cleaner looking bracket. This one had the rolled edges to hold a plate and I cut them off so I could install the chrome frame.

Can't plug these holes there huge. 4 x 7/32" at least!

Not too happy about having to run the front plate-
State (IL) law requires and local enforcement in pretty stiff.

LOL! I got pulled over today. Trooper didn't realize I had a temp on as I came up from behind his vehicle. Thought he stopped me for speeding at first. But as it turned out he accidently stopped me for no front plate. I hate the front plate bracket, but since it was already on the vehicle when I purchased it, guess I might as well use it. Funny thing is, I'm a cop here in Colorado and I've never pulled anyone over for no front plate (even though it is the law). I think it's a stupid law {IMO}.

I made sure when they ordered mine to tell them not to put the front bracket on. In PA we don't have to have one but some dealers have them put on anyway so they can advertise.

Indiana's a no front plate state also. And i made it VERY clear i did not want a front plate on the SS .If it had one when i picked it up , i told them i would not be taking the car.Seems like i wasted my energy, cuz when i thanked the salesman for making sure one did not get put on, he said no problem,,,, cuz there was no front bracket in the car to be installed anyway!

whewww!

OK, as of last week, I'm now in Moss Beach... just north of Half Moon Bay on the coastside.
