SS front struts/springs

Quick question. Can a strut assembly be used for my 2008 HHR SS or do the struts and springs have to be bought separately? It is, of course, the FE5 suspension. I'm thinking a strut assembly kit would be cheaper to purchase and less expensive to have installed. Thanks in advance.

No one sells a FE5 complete assembly. In fact, only AC Delco has a true FE5 strut available. Other brands claim theirs is SS compatible and WILL fit but they are not a true FE5 spec strut.
Go with the AC Delco if you want to retain the performance strut it came with.

If it says "fits all" it is not the right one.

That is the closest you can get to factory strut assembly replacement. HHR FE5-YYZ Strut,Shock,Spring Plug And Play System FE5YYZ

Hhmmm, no those aren’t really FE5 rear springs by HHR SS standards

Those rear springs are a tad mushy compared to the Cobalt
