Thanks XXL for the tip. I ordered one of these sockets yesterday from Monstonix for $8.99 shipped. Just got notice it is shipping today. G.B.

Just took it to the dealer for an oil change. $62!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to support my dealership, but this is what I would call Highway robbery.

Second Oil Change. Took a couple pics

Here are the tools I use.

Put the socket and U-Joint on the cap first, then fish the extention down in.

Connect the ratchet.

Pull out the old filter.

Then reverse the process to put in a new one.

That's pretty much how I do it too.
Does anyone have a really good funnel that works well with these cars?
The funnel I have used for years does not fit properly because if the IC tube, and I hate to just try to get the quart container in without spilling any, because I usually do

I pour from a 5 quart jug, and yep, I spilled some. It would be an "unusual" funnel to say the least. The 5 quart jug is good to pour the old oil in for recycling.

Your right if you use the 5 qt jug, I think I would use one of those screw on nozzles if I were using the 5 qt.
I am looking for a good one that won't fall out for the 1qt jugs. The one I have used for years kinda "snaps" in place via pressure fit and is a little larger than a 1qt jug, but the 1qt jugs fit perfectly into it. The IC tube is just a little too close for it to fit in properly.
Hum.... Maybe a way to justify new IC tubing?

I'm usually just lazy and pour from the quart bottles... gotten pretty good at the 'alley oop' method and don't usually spill. But, for those who want a VERY useful funnel, here's a FREE one--
  1. Get a 2L soft drink bottle
  2. Drink until empty
  3. Burp loudly
  4. Cut bottom 2/3 of bottle off and throw away, leaving only the top 1/3, which includes snout and cap
  5. Voila...

Now you have a funnel with a wide mouth, the lip of the neck can be used to stick it in place under the lip of the engine opening, and the cap goes back on when you're done so you don't dribble (nor does the funnel ).

X, a 2 liter bottle wont fit with the IC pipe...
After my 1st quart using the alley oop method, I cut the bottom 1/2 of the 1qt bottle off and used it as a funnel.... Still would like one that locked into place.
