SS running hot from cold start

Ok, so my SS didn't run hot on my any this week, knock on wood. I am looking at my expansion tank because I am going out of town this weekend and I wonder if I need to add some Dexcool. It is about 2 to 3 inches up the expansion tank currently while cold. I can't see the Cold fill line.
