cold start rough running
cold start rough running
Hello all, tried searching but nothing comes up.
Bought my 09 panel a month ago and and have loved it, and just a few days after getting
it we have had a ton of snow and cold.
Most all mornings I use the remote start to warm it up. yesterday I went to my shop and parked it out back out of the way while servicing a larger truck. When I got ready to leave later that afternoon, I just got in and started it, and it ran rough for a few seconds then smoothed out and ran fine.
it has 60,100 miles on it and was a certified car. is this something that happens sometimes with these or time for plugs already?
thanks, Jon

Did this happen ONLY the one time? If so, at this point, I would not worry about it. It's probably an anomaly.....a one time "thing". Don't recall any other owners mentioning this.
I wouldn't worry about the spark plugs either, at 61,000 miles. The OEM Iridium plugs easily go 100,000 miles UNLESS the vehicle has been driven very VERY hard.....doubt if that is the case because it would have other evidence of this.
Others will give their opinion also.
Welcome to the forum, by the way.

I was thinkin all new gm's went to 100,000 before needing any real tune up and couldnt find any real posts or questions about this. it didn't set any lights or anything so I just won't worry about it. thanks for the response and easing my mind
and thanks for the welcome

I always thought that worn plugs cause hard cold starting, but once running they work fine. Rough idle at start could be many other things....
Maybe check the fuel injectors if it happens again. Might be dirty.

Sounds as though you may have picked up some moisture or condensation in your fuel rail. Ran a little rough till it burned it out.
Was there a rapid change in temperature or humidity(or both) at that time?
Could have caused the moisture conditon to occur.
Like Snoopy said, maybe it was just one of those odd anomoly's(sp?). Hopefully it won't happen again.

Well temps for Indiana are always up and down it seems right now but mainly colder at this time, and just filled up that morning. I drive it pretty much daily so the fuel is fresh.
I'll keep a eye on it in the coming week.

Where it happened after filling up that morning id suspect maybe a contaminant in the fuel or just plain bad gas. Id run the tank out as much as possible to remove all the current gas and refill from a different station to see of the issue recurs
