SS Turbo pistons
@Corey Mcnulty are you taking the pistons completely out? That way, you'd get a better idea. The oily grime of just the dome doesn't reveal the whole scenario. I have pictures of mine from various angles, so we could compare if you had better pictures.
It wasn't supposed to be tag team posting. However, the initial writeup in the first post, wasn't entirely clear (e.g., he said "Second is suppose to be what it is" but should have said "First is suppose to be what it is." since my photo was first in his lineup). And once I found out someone nabbed my photo from Facebook and then gave a writeup that wasn't clear, I jumped in to take ownership of my photo and clarify the statements.
All the DI GM motors that I;ve seen have a unique piston crown.

The early design piston top remind me of Cat diesel engines I worked on. The ones just with the "dimple" in them for the swirl effect. There are pistons on Cat engines that have a cavity in the dome and have a raised point in the middle of that depression also. And yes the engine are DI.
