I just use a thin was pad on the inside of the wheels. I keep them waxes and the dirt just washes off. I don't even have to move the HHR.
I also just use paint polish and wax on the polished surface. I treat the clear as if it is paint.

I noticed that on mine too when I took them off to paint the rotor hub and fins with silver VHT paint.
A good tool I found for cleaning the interior of the wheels was this power brush that you attach to a battery operated drill.Just dip it in your car wash sudz and it will do the back rims completely and with the front you have to move the car to get the spot you missed between the caliper.It also does a good job on your fender liners.
But don't.I repeat don't use it on the polished outside of the wheels,it will put swirls in the finish.It must have like an endura shine like like my intake on my 62.
