If someone gets the Mod done can you take pics and post them up? Might be time to find a 12v vac pump and buy a check valve sense GM does not appear to have the "group hug" in play.

Like this? Here's my Fix, with side benefits when I go to Costco. Thanks Tilia!

I know when my dealer installed the stage upgrade the process did have a question if the vacume pump was installed or not. I believe this question was when he was getting the firmware download. Maybe this has something to do with it?

LOL.

Seal a meal and seal the deal.

That's 120 v though. Requires an inverter. :)

There's a 400W inverter connected to the jumper posts. The only thing I didn't get to do was to put on the 2 "PUSH" spots on either side of the hood that you have to push before you start up in the morning.

I just got off the phone with tecinical assistance and there is no fix for the start up brake issue. Where are other people getting this info. I would love to find out.

My information came from field service rep who stated parts would have to come from TAC, but didn't know when. He stated his best guess would be 2-3weeks and that was about 2 weeks ago. I believe retrorod, who is also a service manager at a chevy dealership, stated he has put one on. He might have the part numbers. I too cannot find any bulletins or other notifications.

Edit: I sent him a PM asking to post his information on this thread.

I just spoke to the same field engineer today and he stated he has been involved in the installation of 2 of these vacuum pumps in Texas. So the parts are out there, but maybe not everyone at TAC knows about it. He stated there are not a lot of kits to be had though at this time. Once they know this is a permanent fix they will release a bulletin with part numbers.

Thats good news (I hope). I hope that means a permanent fix is not too far behind. I have had my HHR in twice for the brake issue and both times they programmed the computer and now that it is colder out it does nothing unless I warm up the car for at least 30 seconds before I drive every time (if it has been sitting more than a half hour). Thank Goodness for the remote start. I use it as I am walking towards the car so by the time I get in it is ready to go.
