OK Guys, I'm still waiting on my SS and your starting to scare me. Maybe I should make a switch to the Hummer SS? What kind of mileage do they get?

overall, the car is fun to drive. i'm having an out of the ordinary problem going on. also you have to keep in mind,we are the 08 owners. laying the foundation for future models. we will have all the problems. just like the i-phones,ps3's,and other new things that had "bugs" when they first came out.

How did you know you had a problem to look under the hood, or did you just discover it at random?

I just looked at a Consumer Reports magazine a co-worker gave me, and the HHR is rated as average reliability and it is actually recommended. Individual components is got bad ratings for are brakes, body hardware and electrical for the 2006 model year. 2007 has faired better, with only body hardware getting a worse than average rating.

Of course, this data is before the SS model came out, so I wonder how many problems are people having with typical HHR components vs SS-specific components?

BTW - I don't take CR auto ratings as gospel. They are way too slanted towards the Japanese automakers. Which is why I am somewhat shocked that the HHR is a recommended car.
