Thoughts on Dura Last Brake Pads?
Thoughts on Dura Last Brake Pads?
I have a 2008 SS and I need to replace my front brake pads for the first time since I bought it. My vehicle has drilled and slotted rotors. I was thinking of installing Dura Last brake pads from Auto Zone.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this brand of pads particularly with the type rotors I have. Anything to be sure to watch for or watch out for?
I plan to do this soon so quick replies would be helpful.

You mentioned ceramic pads. Do they put more wear on the rotors than non-ceramic pads? What about metallic pads?
You need ceramic. premium preferred.
Metallic pads eat rotors for breakfast and lunch.
organic pads don't dissipate heat as well as ceramic.
Get any brand you can afford. Figure about 40.000 miles to a set of fronts. be happy when you get more.

GREAT answers and advice donbrew. Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for.
Yes ceramic is the preferred material for brakes! For even better braking with those 18” SS rims
