top speed for the ss?

I am curious what it is, i am assuming there is a govener set. I know I have personally hit 125. sorry ifthis has been covered, I did a quick searcha and found nothing.

I started wondering cuz I was on the 5th gen camaro site adn the camaro ss is governed at 155 along w/ the 2lt. And apperently the ls and 1lt are set at 118.

Its 155 stock and with the stage kit. Now if you get a custom tune done you can ake it whatever you want. Like mine is set to 450mph. I obviously will never go that fast but we had to set it to something

GM says the SS HHR reaches 155. Must mean that the governor doesn't kick in 'till then. I'm probably wrong. I've not had mine over 95.

so has anyone hit 155? Wow didn't expect it to be that high, wish I had a chance to try and hit 155. Have no idea where I could do it safly. I guess since the new camaro ss is set at 155 I assumed the hhr would be lower. Thanks for the info.

I have heard it is 156 also.I also believe that 155 is the aero limit.

The first week I had my SS, I was on the NJ Turnpike at 6:00 a.m. There was no traffic. I looked at my GPS, and the speed indicator said 92 mph. YIKES!!!

A month or so later, I took it to 103.

A month after that, I was very, very late meeting friends. We were going to Stewart Airport to fly to Dayton, OH for a race. I was on I-84 between Middletown, NY and Newburgh. I figured I could make up some time, so I mashed the gas and hit 118.

What impressed me in all these instances was that the engine wasn't even breathing hard.

155? I doubt I'll ever reach that!

The SS is a very, very impressive vehicle, and I'm very happy to have mine.

I've had mine to 120+. That was before the Stage 1 :-) It get harder and harder to look at the speedometer at those speeds, and I have the RPD. The best way to find out would be with a gps that records top speed. At 120 the half second spent looking at your speedo is 90' traveled not looking where you're going :-O
