Top speed w/stage 1

I have heard that the HHR SS is good for 150mph. Does anyone know if the top speed with the stage 1 upgrade is different. Has anyone seen these speeds for them selves? I don't think that I'll attempt to see them but it would be nice to know for bragging rights.

My 07 LT1 gets a little twitching around a hundred (as fast as I've been in it). I can't image 150 without a lot of mods and a large set of cojones.

I remember GM saying the SS would do 153-155 stock.

I really don't see anymore top end added as the power levels out at these speeds. Also to gain more MPH at those speeds takes a multiplication power much more than at the low end.

GM tested the manual version to above that speed in Germany in standard trim. I would assume that you would get a bit more with the stage 1 kit, maybe 160 if you are lucky with the right conditions. The Michelin Pilots on the SS are speed rated to 168 and Michelin requires higher air pressure for the upper speed ranges. Don't go above 120 unless you adjust your pressure to the correct amount. The auto is governed and will not go above 135 (the number that I have seen). I have the SS 5spd manual with the stage 1 and performance package and go mildly above 100 regularly when passing and it feels the same as it does at 60. The SS suspension is different than the other models and the SS cars sit 1" lower have different front body trim and an air spoiler on the back of the roof.

I have mine over 130 regularly. Had it to 140 once or twice. Hell hit 125 this morning getting on the highway. Years of riding crotch rockets doing 150-170 regularly. I never put my second hand on the bars till I was over 125. I'm not doing this as a bragging, just to explain my view on speed. The rocket riding is also why I got rid of it before I died on it.

Once again, speed is limited in the tune. Stock or GMS1 they are both 155mph...manual and auto.

This one time I went super fast in a different vehicle too.

Funny...

My point was simply... I can't believe people are so nervous about a little speed.

With the stock gears, only increasing the rpm limit will increase top MPH. Too many rpm's= "ka-boom!"
