So the mount on the pass side of the car on the front of the engine by the belts should be my first change?

That's what most of us start with. In my case it's all I need for mine. I may get the STOP mounts sometime later.

Fwiw. If you don't have a rear swaybar added yet, in my opinion that should be the 1st mod done to a SS.

For the trans mounts you will need to get the TTR STOP transmission mounts, which are direct bolt on. A replacement bushing is not available

I've been wondering about these having just gotten my '08 SS/5-speed in December. It appears that axle hop spells death for the F35 tranny. Rather than slapping whatever makes the car faster first, I want to make sure the ASSEMBLY can take out whatever I dish in an order that keeps things working.

From what I'm reading, there is one mount that SHOULD be replaced and others that *may* need it if you're still experiencing problems...

Which mount SHOULD be replaced before I do any Tuning or other upgrades?

Thanks,
Ken

Kersh.
The front engine mount or upper motor mount. It goes by either name.
Great upgrade that pretty much eliminates that wheel hop on the 5 speed.
It will also lessen some of the "shifter slop" because the engine/trans doesn't twist or rotate against the mounts as much.

FiremanGeorge, Thanks for the response. That's what I'm looking for. I don't want to make the assembly TOO solid, this is still a daily driver that I spend over 1 1/2 hours a day in. I don't want to be rough, I just want to fix potential problems BEFORE they become one...

Yeah we would recommend starting with the upper engine mount. Then add as needed.

I got one out of a car that was traded if, previous owner confirmed TTR mount but never got an answer as to how long it was installed for.

I installed it and torqued it to spec, noticed steering wheel vibration and much less torque steer right away. 2 months later, traction is still good but im getting some drivetrain slop when going on/off clutch and accelerating in traffic. Going to check how tight the bolts are, feel like it may have loosened itself or something like that because there are no vibrations of any kind anymore like when I installed it.

Do these mounts wear like factory? Meaning it can weaken over x amount of years?
