Turbo to intercooler tube

When changing my oil a while back I noticed that the tube running from my turbo to the intercooler was really loose and flopped around. After some looking around I found that there is a molded in bracket near the middle that holds it in place that was broken. I took it into my dealer and showed them so they could order another. This was about a month ago, and when I stopped by to see what the hold up was, he said that there may be a redesign on it, so they are not sending any out until they "get it fixed".

I saw in other threads that there is a problem with this hose "leaking". Does anyone know if this is the same problem? Is there any info on a redesign of this tube? Any ETA? Any info at all?

It still runs fine, but being an engineer and HAVING to understand how things work , I was just wondering what anyone knows.

July 22nd the engine warning light came on. New flash was the first tech bulliten fix they tried. Did not work. Replace turbo sensor was next, did not work. They contacted TAC (GM Central tech Support?). They were told to pull the turbo, send the turbo to GM, and install a new Turbo. When they pulled the turbo they found the fins had been scraping. Ordered new Turbo. All the parts showed up in about a week. Installed the new turbo, started smoking, they found the "cracked" intercooler hose/tube. Took almost four weeks for them to get that one part.

Sounds like maybe there is some legitimacy to the redesigned hose comment and the backorder condition for this part.

NOTE: Still totally jazzed about this car!

Mine cracked off that mount back in July. Here is my post on that.

I believe I was the first here to report any problem with the IC pipe. It has been fine since they fixed it... Good luck with yours. If they replace yours with an updated one, I'm heading back to the dealer to get the redesigned one!

Oh by the way CarlsSS, ditto... I saw your post, that's what mine looks like.
Maybe they have had several do the same thing and will redesign.... My confidence level of the replacement lasting (after the warranty is up) is not high if they don't.

Mine cracked when the trans went. So I'll see how long it will take to come in. The trans took 4 weeks so needless to say I'm not holding my breath.

The replacement tube came in and it was EXACTLY like the old one, so no changes yet.
