Hello, I am a new owner of a 2010 HHR. It says it's a turbo SS on the rear hatch and also adorns the SS badges on the doors. However, it does not have the front splitter or rear bumper that I see on other SS'. Not does it have the alloy wheels. It also does not have a boost gauge. It looks like a regular HHR with SS badges. I was wondering how to tell if this one is a true SS or if someone just has a cruel sense of humor.

Intercooler, tubing, blower.

 

Will the blower be visible without removing any of the plastics on the engine itself?

 

Uh. Yeah... If it doesn't have an SS badge under the hood and all the piping, it's fake.. This has happened a bit..

 

That is what I was afraid of. I bought the car for gas mileage and room for the family, not the performance. The turbo would've just been a nice bonus. Just out of curiosity, what would the cost and labor be like to convert it myself?

 

To Much. Based on your questions you are not capable of doing the work yourself, so you would need to pay to have it done, very expensive......and speaking about cost.........

Did you pay the SS price when you purchased it? They do sell for considerably more than the LT or LS models

 

If you don't have this on the dash, it's not a SS. All 2010 SS's came with these.

So what does the Craftsman ratchet do? hehe hehe Do they all have that?

Yeah. You got me donbrew. And good eyes also because that IS an old Craftsman ratchet. That picture is actually about 4 years old. Back from when we were discussing oil filter sockets and such.
I just keep reusing that photo whenever I need to post a visual of under the hood. (Maybe with all this time off I should take some new photos )
