Has anyone else noticed that when you start up the SS and let it run that the smell from the exhaust is kinda chemical smelling?

I usually start mine up with the remote start in the mornings to alleviate the brake/boost/vacuum problem, and let it run about 2 mins and as i walk around the back to get in it smells different that any other car i have had.

 

I have not noticed that smell and I remote start my SS as well.

 

Newer cars with all of their catalytic converters and low emissions do smell a bit funny when they start up, it's not a regular gas smell at all. My HHR has a bit of sweet chemical smell to it, it's not that strong though and I'm sure it's normal.

If you want smelly, do some hard acceleration for a while (a few long blasts on the highway or something) and then stop somewhere soon after. It'll smell like rotten eggs - I think it's sulfur being burned off in the cats.
