lack of an armrest on the manuals

General interior cheapness.
Already had the engine apart for a cam actuator.
interior light broke. (plastic bit flopping around inside.
last two were warranty
sunroof stopped working. of course the 60 000 km part of my warranty is up so I gotta take care of this. yay.
I still love it though!

Of course, I kept the 6-7 Grand Extra an "SS", would have cost where it belongs, in My pocket.

I instead bought a 2LT Panel loaded up with the options I wanted on it. And have been Customizing the 2LT Black Panel to my liking and I am still many thousands ahead. I even bought my 2LT used with Low miles and that saved me about Half over buying the same New. (And now you can't even buy a New 2LT Panel)

So I am way ahead here.

Even with the low resale value of the HHR's, I am still far ahead. I knew it going in so I bought wisely and knew I would be Keeping my Panel for the long term, so resale won't come into play here. And I paid it off in 8 months so I own it free and clear now, once the 5 year warranty is done, I can make it go Fast.

I agree overall interior cheapness. They should have left the window controls in the middle around the shifter. Glove box should have come with a lock. However, overall it's my favorite car to have owned so far, and hope to keep it a long time.

This car has alot more positives than negatives. Great on gas, lots of room, quick, retro and now a collector.

Pick out a Chevy that doesn't have a cheap plastic interior. So, I usually overlook that, besides I plan on having that covered in leather down the road. I agree with the arm rest, but that is very minor to me as well. My biggest issue is the windshield. Due to the styling of the HHR the windshield is at quite a vertical angle. It catches all the bugs and any road debris. It is the worst. I have had two rock damage it and it looks like someone sandblasted it when the light hits it right. Actually it almost looks worse than my '86 el camino's original windshield. That is my biggest gripe and again, I accept that because I love the vehicle so much. It is exactly what I need for daily use. Plus I get 30 mpg on a tank of gas.

A&P I'm glad you have so much money left its just that yours is SLOW I drove LT2's and liked them fine for an old man putt around machine but once I drove a SS with the stg1 it was over its exciting on a daily basis Mine was only 4 grand more than the nice used 2lt I dont think you can make a 2lt do what it does for 4K that includes adding the stg1 The way I fiqure it I saved 10K by not buying the used Audi S6 wagon and I'm having plenty of fun and adding lots of mods to make it mine Its all relative.

But the thread was what you dont like about an SS so I have to say I wish it didn't get dirty I up for the self cleaning mod !!
