what mode to drive it in....

i was pondering the thought today in stop and go 80mph for a mile then stop again traffic on drive home.. with the automatic and nice 80 degree day out (no rain nor snow) should i drive it with traction control off? or put it in "competition mode" or just stick with traction on?

is there any plus or minus with switching it? resistance, fuel mileage, moving parts at one given time?

Out here in cali. during the sometimes stop and go[altho I try to avoid the traffic jams], I just use drive, and downshift it like a stick to slow down, with traction control ect. on. Trifectia tune on cruise control, on.
No real benifit turning stuff off, usless you are doing track time. traction control off, with stg 1, you'd just be spinning the wheels sooner. anything slower that about 70, just leave it in 2nd, and it will shift itself into 3rd. I usually drive my SS, like a stick. Seems to worh real good that way. "Moon"

I drive in 'like I stole it' mode.

...Not having it in competition mode can limit wheelspin when you find yourself in the vicinity of a PT cruiser.

Breadfan: you should be able to clean a PT's clock, no matter what mode your in. Those things are a pooch. "Moon"

You bet, although I just verified that wife is unamused even if the TCS holds the shift to third to a short screech from the tires.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Wide Ovals. They seem nice enough. I don't data log with the wife either.
