What is seriously wrong with this SS???
I was looking around on Carmax and found this SS. In an instant, I saw there is a big problem with this car. My guess would be that it was in an accident and they didnt put it back together the right way

Yes the grill is wrong, but it could be that the interior was special ordered as black on black? Maybe the vehicle came in on the trade with a cracked grill and they threw on a regular HHR grill to show it while the SS grill is on order? You never know...

Seller says it's just perfect
It somehow has a "clean" vehicle history http://www.carmax.com/enus/history-r...tml?sn=7451894
and a no-haggle price of $22k, well $21,998

Previous owner hit a bird, cracked the original all to bits and picked this one up at a near-by junkyard. Junkyard computer showed "front grill/satin chrome/Chevy HHR/all models/2006-current".
Just maybe!!!

Yeah probably something minor happened, but it left a bad taste for the original owner and they decided they didnt want it anymore.
I once thought i found a great deal on a car a few years ago. One year old with a few miles on a special edition xB. Awhile after i got it, i noticed some little things off with the grille. I figured it must have been hit and then fixed and then traded in.

The SS has a taller grille that sinks into the inversion section of the bumper, which explains the gap using the LT/LS grille. The LT/LS grille is probably cheaper to replace, because there's more of them around. Looks more like someone cheaping out with a replacement than trying to customize an SS.
