$2.44 Stubby How-To

Not much to explain here. Take the factory antenna off, cut it to desired length, purchase a package of vaccum end caps, put it on and viola. Done

I know that was a lot to follow...hope it helps

Thats what I did with mine. I GENTLY used a bench grinder to put a nice tapered point on it. Hit it with a coat of gloss black and some clear I had laying around.

I would have cut it a tad shorter so the rubber boot was up against the thicker part..... But then again, I never could follow instructions........

that's is a great idea.

I went with the stubbyantenae.com version that allows for extending. Best of both worlds. But it did cost over $3.

@ Officer...yes, it is your old antenna.
@ Greybeard...i was going to cut it shorter, but once you get down to a certain point, it's pretty tightly coiled. Didn't want to get into that part of the antenna. I might cut down the cap a little as it's pretty long.
@GasMan...I'm all about "inexpensive" mods :)
@Sleeper...I've still got another full length factory antenna for fishing trips :)
@843...haven't had a bit of reception issue. No fuzz at all. If I'm not on a strong FM station here in town, I'm usually playing CD's...haven't tried AM yet. We'll see how it works when I get out into the countryside
