I am kind of late to this thread. What I just did to my 2008 LT was popped the lens off, there are 4 J hooks that mate to J hooks on the Housing. The housing is held to the roof with a magnet, not really to the headliner, but positioning tabs hold it in place.

I was able to to just twist the housing around 180 deg..

The trick to replacing the lens cover is a) observe 2 pins on the lens mate with slots on the housing and b) use a knife blade to get between the headliner and the housing to pry the housing down a bit and hold it down so you can pop the J hooks back together, probably can get 2 of them clicked easily then need support from backside for the last 2.

My problem came because the switch exploded when I removed the lens the first time, and then just as I figured it out (the fourth time reinstalling) the copper contact fell into a black hole that will require removing the rear seat or the storage boxes. Does anybody know if I can buy just the switch?, it's hard to tell if the pieces are separate parts book items.

And, damn it was getting too dark for me to go look for a camera!

Just did this mod yesterday on my lunch hour. Very easy to do and it made a big difference. Everyone get in there and rotate that rascal.

Just bought an 08 LT Does the back dome light come on with the same switch that turns on the map lights?

Well it doesn't have to be turned around at all. The back light that does comes on with the door you can actually take another wire and run it straight to the map lights that way the map lights still come on with a door opened or when someone pushes the button. I think someone did mention that in here already.

It is 08 and down as you go the better dome lights. The 08 and earlier had a LED for the window switch and the map lights only in front. It is pretty dark.

I was hoping to find a 09 and later front light at the junk yard and upgrading.
