I am looking at the picture of the OE bolt you show removed. Small Threads on the end only?
New bolt …Large threads and No threads on the end?
2 different configurations?
Same question

Also … Is this bolt shown for the 2.2L and 2.4L engine only or will it fit the 2.0L SS ?

These bolts are common with all three engines, the shank on the end fits into the front guide upper bolt location, but it doesn’t have threads nor does it go into the threaded hole inside the engine, it is secured by the threads in that outside part , see post #3

Yes, Dorman jumped in board a few years after Mike over in the Cobalt site was making this design .

The bolt you take out will have threads on the end.
The replacement doesn't have any.
The smaller part of the "stud" fits into where the threads are in the block to support the new part.
Otherwise the bolt has no real support.

Actually the smaller part fits into the guides upper bolt hole, this way if the OEM bolt has broken off , you do not need to drill out the stub .

Mr Brandt was very good in designing this
