Put some silicone on the new bracket to seal for water leaks. You will need a "long nose" rivet tool to be able to pop rivet the new bracket back on. It took me about 30 minutes to complete the job and less than $10 for the bracket. Good luck !
I'd like to see a write up on this fix. Do you have pics? Because the TSB looked so intimidating I was going to do what many did and just remove it all together. If I can "fix" it without removing my headliner, I'd like more detailed instructions on it.

Mine broke today on the expressway, the arm had a broken link so it can't be snapped back in. The Passenger (LH) bracket broke as I was closing the sunroof, then the wind broke the arm, pin on the other side. I almost never use the sun roof in the open position, only the rear lift up. Today traffic stopped and it was a great day.. o well.
I had the thermostat problem, the head light fogged and the shifter cable - can't get the key out problems. It's a 2006,2.4, 2LT, crome, running boards, 17's loaded. and I switched to drilled slotted rotors and ceramic pads - last year, no more break issues. The dash compartment latch broke, I used button head screws and fixed it. I also have the front end knock, it's electrical -it goes away when I turn up the radio...

tODAY 5 - 12 THE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. ANOTHER JUNK PART.. HOW SAD

I really like the car, my other cars are classics and actually are made better, shame on Chevy for not addressing the stupid things, .

Based on other cars that my kids have and friends have - including Honda, Lexus and BMW, I've had less problems..

It rains a lot in Florida. How do I get the roof to close all the way???????
Did you ever get a reply or fix for this problem? Mine is doing the very some thing. I really appreciate to know how to just get the sunroof to close completly and never open it again. Thanks for any help.

Mine broke a month ago. I told my wife that I would try taking the windscreen out and put a black aftermarket stick on part in place of it. Looks like I was on to something. I thought I would check here first. Now I have to decide whether to replace the rail or do the quick fix. Mine is an 08 with rivets.

2 weeks ago I decided to just take out the deflector. car looks sleek now, and if I go above 70kmh I just hit the vent switch to save my headliner. Problem solved.

what did you install for the wind exactly?

if you don't mind me asking what part did you buy and put on roof to keep wind out?
