2009 hhr
bought an HHR back in November. Like it, but have had some issues with the shifter not shifting out of park. Bought it to be able to tow behind our camper, it tows great! I am enjoying checking out the site!

to the forum. You will find a lot of good information here.Sorry to hear about your shifter issue. It might be an issue with the shifter interlock system. Do you hear a noticeable click when you push in on the brake pedal? Or, the prevoius owner could have just spilt something down there and it just needs cleaned really good.

I have an 09 and the issue was the indicator on the shifter did not line up with the proper letter indicating what gear your in. Dealer took care of it before i bought it.
Some people may not be used to the "foot on the brake pedal to get the shifter into gear" because their previous car may not have had the safety interlock.
By the way-Welcome & enjoy the ride! Just make sure your camper doesn't fart on you HHR as your driving up hills...
