Smile Another new HHR owner thread! :)

Hello All,

I've been lurking in the forum for a few days, and finally decided to introduce myself!

My wife and I just purchased our new HHR this weekend. A blue '09 LT1 to be exact. It's amazing how affordable this car was with all the GM drama as of late! All the Chevy dealers were ghost towns.

I was just wondering if there are any tips anybody would like to offer for a new HHR owner. This car is mostly for my wife for short commutes and general driving needs. We're not really interested in any performance mods, but any general advice, and/or simple mod suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Al.

Here's a picture of my happy wife Amanda and here new baby.

Wow, that was a fast reply! I was wondering if the picture was a good idea. I didn't have any other shots with a good angle, and honestly she is really in love with the car. Her best friend has had one for about 3 years now, so now they have one more thing in common they can talk about... Other than talking about how lame their husbands are that is!

The first thing I'd suggest would be to clay bar and wax it. There is a Sticky thread here with details... I believe it's in the Appearance forum.

Welcome Al, We have a pretty active bunch of HHR owners here in SoCal, we hope you and your wife will come out to one of our events and hang out with us. We have a burger/omelet run scheduled for this Sunday July 5th in Fullerton. We would love you both to come. I know this first time is scary, but we rarely bite! Plus you can get your SoCal HHRs decal and then you are in.

Nice to see a BFM!

Welcome from Santa Ana and to the HHR familia!
I can guarantee that you will quickly get over keeping it stock.

Check out the calendar thread: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/south-pacific-36/calendar-24258/
for an idea of what is going on with SoCal HHR's for this month.

We thrive on controlled chaos and *always* have a great time!

Welcome! I bought one for the wife 2 years ago on MY Birthday, she loves that little car (or truck as Chevy calls it), she almost never let me drive when we would go someplace in it. So two weeks ago I bought one for my self, so beware, you mine find yourself wanting one tooooo.
