Convert from PT

Hello All

Yesterday I jumped from a 01 PT LE with 103,000 miles on it that I have abused since 08. It took all I could give it for a long time,to about 85,000 miles then started costing all kinds of $. I got this 09 2LT for 10K cash and the PT Loser. Leather, remote start, sunroof, heated seats and 33,000 miles. MUCH more refined then the Loser. I think i got a good deal.

I loved the look of the PT when it came out, finally drove one a few years ago as a rental. Glad I have the HHR instead.

Congrats.

Absolutely NO shame in owning a PT.

I saw it as a Concept Car at the Chicago Auto Show, and I Immediately fell in Love with it.
Only I hauled heavy tools in my work van all the time and needed at least a V-6 and wanted it to be Bigger all around. And it was a Chrysler.

The next model year they actually made it. I was close to buying a Black one or even the Purple they had.

Without the PT, there would be NO HHR, so I am happy they made them.

Glad I waited it out and got my Black HHR Panel.

to the forum axxsys!

Well you are one of a small crowd here to have had the HHR's cousin from another manufacturer, same designer did both, Bryan Nesbitt who now heads up GM's styling division in China.

It really depends on what level trim you buy. I had a 2005 PT Cruiser GT with the 220 HP turbo engine (the best performance PT at the time). I got it fully loaded...leather seats, the works.

I found the most disappointing aspect of it was the quality, though none of it was engine-related. I had brake sensor issues, the rear passenger door couldn't be opened from the inside...but the most annoying one was the hatch door popping open randomly...my GT had auto-locks, so basically I'd have to close the hatch, get into the car, gas it in the hopes that the hatch would auto-lock...if it popped, get out of the car, close the hatch, and repeat. It took the dealer three tries to fix it for good, and by the third time I was getting soured on the whole experience. I hit someone going no more than 10 mph, but that hit did almost $5k in damage to my front end. That was it for me.

Minus the quality issues, it wasn't a bad car, but I do like my SS far more, from the exterior to the interior...I did like the PT's dash a lot (I thought the '06 PT interior redesign was disappointing), but the GT didn't really make much of an impact on me...I wasn't at all sorry to see it go. My HHR has been a far more rewarding and memorable experience.
