I joined the forum nearly 3 years ago, but this is my first post -- so far, I've been "snooping" to see other member's solutions & fixes for common problems. My biggest problem that wasn't covered by an extended warranty was the front OEM brake rotors (replaced twice). Now that I'm out of warranty, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
The recall campaign has been disappointing. The "new GM" seems to be working hard to fix problems, but as I'm frequently traveling between two residences, it's hard to keep up with progress (or lack of it). A little scary making the 1100 mile trip between MO and FL, hoping the ignition switch or power steering pump won't fail in fast interstate traffic!
Also had a "bump and run" in a parking lot that broke a rear bumper reflector and popped some of the clips that hold on the fascia. Would appreciate some advice on how to fix that doesn't involve an expensive trip to a body shop.

Welcome! I know this recall has been somewhat disheartening for you as a vehicle owner, but if you have any questions regarding the ignition switch recall, I would be happy to assist. Please send me a PM with your VIN, and I would be happy to look into this further for you.

aboardthe rotors have been a pain on allot of GM cars, my daughters balt also
i bought her drilled/dimpled rotors and lifetime warrantied gold duralast pads from auto zone
once a year we remove the pads and take them down and swap them out if they need it or not and she has not had a problem w hers
i do the same with mine as well and have had no issues
good luck
First had the rotors turned under warranty after only owning my HHR about a month, then replaced about 2 years later. I should have gone with aftermarket rotors & pads, but the car was still under warranty, and I thought there might have been another contributing problem. Then had to have the rotors turned about a year ago. There have been a lot of complaints about OEM rotors/pads - next time I will go with a better set.

to the forum, somewhat belated though it is.
