Greetings

Hello. My name is Mike and I'm in the Metro Atlanta area. I just brought home a Black 2010 HHR (LS 2.2 AT) last night. I really like it. I'm the 2nd owner, it has under 40K miles on it.

I've been running a PT Cruiser ('03) for the past 4 years. It had nearly 120K miles. I've been having problems with it and downtime, etc. plus I just felt like things were about to go wrong... I really liked it and am sad to see it go, but I traded it in while it was still worth something.

I have 3 kids that I have most weekends, and have enjoyed the flexibility of the fold down rear seats, etc.

I'm excited to make this car mine, do a little customization! Are there any no-no's? (LOL)

Also, I didn't know this until it was all a done deal etc. - but I only got one key/ remote... I assume I'll have to head to a dealer. Any idea of cost?

Welcome to the site, as for the remotes they are available thru dealer $$$ Autozone and other parts houses, you will have to go to the dealer to get a new or used one assigned to your HHR , the cost depends on your dealers service department.

Welcome to the site I would try to talk the dealer into giving you an additional key and remote. The remote +programming and a chip key can be kinda costly. I have found inexpensive chip keys online but beware it is sometime hard to find someone to cut the key if they didn't sell it to you.

Remote/key

Unfortunately I got it from a non-Chevy dealer. I'll have to figure it out on my own, I think.

I got my HHR from a non-Chevy dealer, withonly one key and the fob only worked 1/2 the time. Get 2 new fobs and a second key off Ebay, and sweet-talked a local Chevy dealer into cutting the key and programming the new fobs, all is good....
