Hello from Hesperia, MI

Hi there! I am just joining up. I want to make my little HHR last as long as I can. I bought a 2006 3 years ago and it's had lots and lots of miles since then. I want to keep it in really good shape and make it last, there were no plans to drive nearly this much however, stuff changes and yeah. It has 146,000ish miles on it. Other than basic maintenance stuff, I have changed the Ignition and electric control modules, wires and plugs, gasket on the manifold, either shocks or struts (I can't remember which one right now, was almost screwed into unnecessary work) and the control arms. Are there any other moderate (not power train) things I should anticipate updates or work needed?

Thanks!!!

Heather

Hello & welcome-

I would offer that you check rear drum brake adjustment, maybe when tires get rotated. The 'self-adjusters' don't work as intended on many members hhrs here..

I can tell if my rear drum brakes are adjusted properly, by how many clicks it takes on the E-Brake.. Mine takes about 3 clicks when they are set precisely...

Welcome from Elsie, Michigan

When I was small we used to go to the Hesperia/Fremont area to visit relatives. I don't remember any names except Hammond. They lived right on a lake and that is what I remember.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for the tip on the brakes!

Hi Boydee! I am a transplant, Hammond sounds vaguely familiar, but not anything I could put my finger one. I love it over here!

to the forum Heather!

Sleeper is right on with the regular rear brake adjustments, and it sounds like you're keeping up with the maintenance, so just drive it and enjoy it as usual.
