Hello from Illinois!
Hello! It's nice to post on here finally. I've been lurking on the forum here for a while now and you guys have really been a big help in figuring things out with my HHR. I've had it for a little over a year now and I absolutely love it! Just today I fixed a problem with the rear wiper and within the next week I plan on fixing a passenger side water leak. She runs great except for one thing that irks me. There's a noise that comes from the air blower motor behind the glove compartment that sounds like it's clicking against the inside of the motor. This started last winter but only on the lowest fan setting and now it does it on all settings and is much louder. Haven't found any helpful threads on this problem yet but I look forward to finding the problem and fixing it!
Welcome.....
Passenger side water leak may be leaking onto the fan, under the 'cabin air filter'. (CAF)..
As 843 suggested, remove & inspect..
And you probably know 2006 has the 'butyl patch' on pass side, below the windshiled... Easy Fix.
This may help:

Welcome & enjoy the ride!
My wifes cobalt & not my 09 LS is making that clicking noise only during the winter. Must be an issue with the bearings heating up because the heat is on. There are others on the forum who have had the same issue & happen again down the road even after the replacement... Hers has been doing it the past few winters, but not loud yet. Fan still works fine-just an annoyance. Mine on the other hand gets loud enough that I have to turn the radio up. I am going to make an appointment to get a few things buttoned up before my bumper to bumper goes away in 3,000.
