Hello, New Owner Here

Hello, Been following chevyhhr.net for a while now. I live in South Dakota. And last night I picked up a white 2009 LS. I've driven VW and Audi for the last 20 years but I've been running out nickels and dimes This LS has 80k miles on it and not a scratch on it and interior is near perfect. I have questions about these vehicles. If some of you can chime in, I'd be grateful. This LS did not come with a key fob and only keys. I was told that replacement key fobs were inexpensive. And of course, on amazon they are. However, after I got the car home, I started doing vin checks. What I found was that this LS does not have keyless entry and was confirmed by GM Apparently, it was a fleet(state owned) vehicle. It does have power door locks. I also plan on getting a remote start for it. My question is this. When I get the remote start, will the programming/installation allow me to get the keyless entry? The other question I have is this. There is a very slight buzzing noize coming from under the left side of the dash and its intermittent. The LS is very quiet which is why probably how I heard this noise. Any ideas? I know with the VW's if one has a noise like this, others do to. But again, the noise is very slight. I look forward to talking to some of you in the future. I spent years on the VW forums, so now I guess this is the place to be

aboard, and congrats on your new ride!

There were some changes made between the '08 and '09 model years which rendered some retrofits impossible.

I'm going to have to poke around for the specfic answers to your questions unless donbrew, firemangeorge, Lucky, or whopper beat me to it.

Ex-fleet HHR's can cause some head scratching, but we'll figure things out.

Welcome to the site.

You really should start another thread to post up your questions. No need for us to try and answer in this Introductions forum.

Yeah, initially I didn't think about that. But I do agree with you. Thanks, I was planning on starting new thread for "fleet HHR's". So hopefully I'll get around to maybe tonight or tomorrow. There might be a use on this site for the info I obtained in the last couples days. :)
