Hello From Texas
Hello everyone I am new to this forum and to the HHR, next week I will be picking up my first one ever. I am purchasing a 2008 HHR SS in Victory Red.
Right now I currently own a 1998 Mustang GT. I bought it from the same dealership and will be giving it back to them because I would like the extra room, better fuel mileage and be able to keep the same amount of power.
I know y'all could probably care less about my Mustang but I'll share it anyways.
I got it with 82,000 miles and now has 115,xxx. Since I bought it I have swapped a motor from an 02 GT for the extra hp. Also running Borla exhaust with a Prochamber. I just recently lowered it and has a few other goodies to improve the appearance such as Cobra headlights, 6k HID, LED's inside and out on the rear plate, black 10.5" Bullitt wheels w/ 275/40/17 tires all around. Its a fun car no doubt but this is my 4th Mustang GT and would like to expand my horizons.
Anyway here's a pic of the Mustang

and here is what I'll be picking up next week

to the forum, and congrats on your soon to be new ride! You might miss that V-8 rumble for a while, but these little trucklets are a hoot to drive no matter what's between the front fenders.
P.S. That is a sharp Mustang, hope it goes to a good home.
I will definitely take a last look at her before I drive off, it's been by the the best car I've ever had and I've had 9 in the last 6 years.
To be honest I never use to be a fan of the HHR and I think the only one I could ever consider owning is the SS. I work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car so I drove the LS/LT models before so I kinda have an idea on how they drive.
First mods will definitely be exhaust and a tune I'll have to find out if this is the 260hp SS or the 290hp. Really all I care about is if it has the Pioneer stereo system LOL!
Hopefully everything goes well with it, the mileage is a little high (117k) miles but looks to be in great shape! They have a black SS auto on the lot too but I don't want an auto and that one has a sticker on it that says (Stage 2)?
Check out the SS specific sections of the forum, we have a tight little group of SS guys here with tons of tech know how.
I'm one of the "Normally Aspirated" bunch, 2.2's and 2.4's are my flavors of choice.
That being said, I came this close (fingertips nearly touching) to buying an SS two weeks ago, but it had been run low on coolant with a misfire code showing on Cyl #3....that's big trouble most of the time.
