Hi From New SS Owner In St. Louis, Missouri

Hi Folks -

I've been gratefully researching this forum over the last couple of months as I waited for the planets to align (aka Wife Approval) allowing for an SS purchase. I will be flying to Tulsa Thursday morning to drive home my 2010 HHR Super Sport. It has 56,xxx miles, is a dark blue 5-speed, has the BREMBO BRAKES (which also means it has the LSD since it's a 2010, right?), and looks to be in decent condition. It was rebuilt around 3 or 4 years ago and sold by a small family dealer near Tulsa, owners drove it for 30,xxx miles and came back to the dealer to trade it in on a truck. So I'm fairly confidant that the repairs were done properly since the owners had no problem doing more business with that dealer.

Will be researching even more as I figure out which recalls to make sure occurred, which upgrades to go with, etc etc.

I'm looking forward to contributing to this community in any way I can. I appreciate that this forum seems rather mature and supportive in nature -- not something to take for granted!

Super Sportly Yours,
Jerry

Welcome to the site.

Only recall for a 2010 SS was for the ignition switch/key cylinder replacement.
If it has the factory front Brembos, it will have the LSD. The Performance Pkg option consisted of both of those.

Rebuilt ? At such a low mileage, I would be cautious and question why. Generally they don't get "rebuilt" by a dealer. They usually just replace the engine with a new unit.
I would advise to check into this more before signing anything.

Jerry!

Did the 10's not get the passenger airbag wiring harness recall? Anyway, Jerry, your Chevy dealer can look it up by your VIN and tell you what is still lacking.

Thanks Guys!

FiremanGeorge - sorry, I meant that the title is a "Rebuilt" title - as in body work after an accident. The dealer is a small Mom N Pop type place that has been around since '53. These days they specialize in repairing insurance write-off cars. I have to admit that I am a little nervous about the risk, but the price, options, year, mileage were too compelling. And I have several folks in my life who have had no problems with "Rebuilt" titled-cars.

Thanks for the welcome, guys! Headed to the airport tomorrow morning and hope to be home by dinner.
