Hi y'all

I bought a 2009 HHR SS for my birthday last November and I have been lurking here since then. I decided it was time to post. I needed to find a car for work that got better gas mileage than the Titan I was driving. The HHR was a perfect fit it's a great little car. I live in Bedford which is in between Dallas and Fort Worth.

Hey, LuckyStrike21, welcome to the site and HHR truck replacement therapy. You will love the mileage, and miss the capacity. But even if it takes two trips with the HHR, you are still ahead on gas.

Oh yeah I can go 50-75 miles further on a tank of gas, and that tank is half the capacity of the Titan. I normally advise my customers against this but I love this little car. The only "problem" I have is I have to take my wife's Trailblazer when my daughter and I want to go ride our bikes. My wife doesn't like to drive it so it is kind of a fight to get her keys. That will be fixed when my tax check comes in! As far as hauling goes I do have access to another truck,(the people that used to ask me help move don't know that) so I can have my cake and eat it too so to speak! The biggest reason I bought this one; my dad used to have a '48 Chevy Carryall with a 6" chop and the same shade of bright red, and it was the coolest of the 4 they had on the lot. I wasn't planning on getting the SS but the others just didn't do it for me.
Thanks for the welcome!

I have two pickups that I use when I have the need. I towed a motorcycle to the Indian dealership in Charlotte the other day with my GMC Sierra and cringed at the 17mpg I was getting with Regular being 3.70 here now. Otherwise I take the HHR. My wife also doesn't like to drive the HHR for some reason. She says she has problems seeing when backing. Her daily driver is a S-60 Volvo. As she is a Kiwi, I don't care she buys non-American (not that she would listen to me anyway).
