Talking Howdy folks!

I bought my 2009 used in October of that year, paid it off last spring. Now I'm looking to just keep the car in good condition so it will last me as long as possible. Problem is, I'm ignorant about cars. Just joined the site so maybe I could learn what I don't know.

So if you know good resources, I welcome any info you might have.

Thanks!

Your first and best source for info on maintenance intervals is your Owner's Manual.

At a bare minimum, following GM's recommendations will keep your HHR happy for years.

Try our Search function at the top of the page, it's linked to Google and there aren't many questions here that haven't been addressed at least once in the last nine years.

As far as additional resources go, you can always pick up a Haynes Shop Manual for the HHR, they sell for $20-25, and they're for novices and experienced owners so you'll be able to see how your HHR works...with a minumum of "Technical-ese".

Plus, never hesitate to ask questions here, it's a rare day when someone doesn't have the answer.

As far as keeping these Trucklets on the road, with proper care, a service life of 300,000 to 400,000 miles before an overhaul is well within their capability. My two year old son is going to get our first HHR when he graduates High School in 2030, by then 'Ol Paddington the HHR will be 23 years old. Dusty "wuvs Mr. Tuck", and he has a little meltdown if we go for a ride in anything else.
