Howdy! HHR Bound, Questions!
No the ss springs won't void the warranty. They are actually offered from GM as the fe5 suspension. There is nothing wrong with the hhr handling wise stock but I live in an area where straight Roads don't exist. I loved mine when I test drove it in April and 6k miles and 3 months in I still love it. The sway bar shouldn't void your warranty either I'm sure some of the others on here can verify though.
Hey mkbomb,
I also just bought a 2011 HHR LT that was a previous rental, and it had 26k miles. The reason why most rental places get rid of vehicles over a certain mileage is usually due to the strict regulations that company has for mileage. Another thing to watch out for, is smoke damage, but if you dont mind working to get the smoke smell out, you can easily get a dealership to drop the price $1k from list price, as smoke damaged vehicles are harder for them to sell(direct from a GM dealership sales mouth).
I paid in total for mine, just under 16k. Youve been doing your research, and what I would suggest, is find two LT's, and hopefully you can find one with really low mileage, and compare it with the one you posted with 30k. If the low mileage one goes for cheaper, like say even $50, tell the 30k dealership youve found the same year/make/model that has lower mileage, and is going for cheaper. They will more than likely drop the price about $500 less than the low mileage place. Then let the low mileage place know youve been thinking about their HHR, but youve been able to find a place that has a few extra 1k miles on it, and they dropped the price to $xxxxx to beat the one they have. The dealership will more than likely say 'How about we match them, and now you have a vehicle with less miles, longer warranty, and will be cheaper.' Its what I did, the other HHR I was looking at had 33k miles on it, but had same features and color.
Hope this helps you out.

Welcome to the site. My 2010 HHR LT was a rental. I bought it with 29k miles and it now has over 50k miles on it. My dad's Cobalt was also a rental and it now has over 130k miles on it. Both have just had regular maintenance to date. My Oldsmobile Alero was also a rental and that car had over 200k miles before we had any issues with it other than the wheel bearings, which were replaced under warranty, but those were known to be bad on those cars anyway. So don't be discouraged from buying a car that was a rental. Like others have said just test drive the car and look over it and make sure everything looks and feels right. Also check the carfax. A lot of times it can reveal info about a car that you may not have known about otherwise and it's definitely a helpful tool when buying a used car.
I got my year old ex rental 09 for approximately half the price it was new. Had under 30k now has over 100k. Biggest expense so far was grabbing snows one year and upgrading to Eagle Gts this year for the summer. The Cadillac Catera wheels seem to suit the car so I grabbed those as well. The routine maintenance oil changes and the like all done by me in the driveway.
Oh and look into led tailights from Maggie at Race and Street . The improvement in the reverse lights is well worth the price of admission!!!!!!

OK, so I found some I like. Looking to trade in the wifes Routan for the Red 2011, and looking for one of the other two for an "A to B" to replace my too-small beetle. The high mileage hhrs are NOT CPO, I insisted that I need both cars to be CPO and the salesman said "we can absolutely ADD a CPO warranty to the car, which, I'm assuming will be added to the price. My questions are: What's a reasonable price for GM CPO, and, if ANOTHER Mfg's warranty is offered, do I consider it? Thanks!

I got mine from Maggie at Race and Street (Vendor here). I've got one of the first sets. Been on since early 08. Not sure what they are running now. You can also find them on EBay. They have ruby (mine) clear, smoked, and tinted I believe.
haha swerv...DEF want the red for wifey. Just trying to see if either of the other two is worth taking a chance at with those mileages WITH a CPO warranty??
