I stumbled into being an HHR owner...

Ive been shopping for cars lately, and the HHR wasn’t even close to my radar.... Then I found this 2008 HHR LT with only 26,000 miles on it for $5000! I test drove it, liked it, offered him $4600, and now I own it ! It is darn near brand new!

I need to get new tires for it, these have a reasonable amount of life left, but I’d like to get something better. I am thinking Cooper CS5 ultra touring, but could be swayed if you think there’s something better for it. Also considering doing some mods to the car overall. Appearance and functionality/performance perhaps.

So far I like the car, hopefully I will grow to love it !
anyway, I thought I would say hello!

to the site.
Sweet looking ride.
Personally I'm a Goodyear man and currently running Eagle GT's
Tires, it seems are personal preference.
As far as mods go, they can be never ending. At least for me as I always find something else I would like to do.
They best part is that all mods are relatively easy and you can find alot of 'how to' threads here.

The stock tires should be good for 70,000 miles, at least. And I found them to be great..

thanks, I’ll check out the GT’s !

in tires, I definitely want low road noise and long wear. I live in Austin TX, so no worries about snow... just has to be good in dry and occasional wet weather. :)

I’ve been digging in to the “how to” and “mods” threads ... some cool stuff !!!

I’ve seen Michelin is well liked, I’ve had BFG , Goodyear , and Coopers , all were good . I’m running the Cooper tires now, good grip , smooth ride 245/55R18 ZEON RS3-A , nice tire

thanks for the reply !

I was looking at the zeons as well.... was wondering if they were worth the extra $ over the CS5 ultimate touring. Probably are.

Welcome aboard & Congrats on the new ride.. Looks good.

I hated the OE Flintstones my '08 Panel came with. In fact not long after getting mine Aug 29/ 2009, I sold those OE tires here in the classifieds.

Also bumped up to a 225/50/17 from the OE size 215/50/17. And I only run ZR rated directionals. I don't run my tires out, they age out.

:)

I like the Coopers, so it’s good to hear all these reviews. I’m not gonna be driving on a racetrack at 120mph ... I just need good, solid, all weather cruisers that last and are quiet. :)

Right now it’s got 215/55/R16 on it. Wondering if I can safely bump that up a bit.... notice any difference really, besides the look ?
