Introduction

I'm a 67 year-old guy who's been dreaming of owning a Corvette for the past 40 years; in the meantime, I got myself an '08 HHR SS, 5-speed; I wonder if anybody has heard of this kind of issue: the cruise control doesn't engage sometimes, particularly when I've stopped the engine and restarted it without getting off or un-buckle the safety belt; it seems that there might be around 50 reasons for the cruise control not to engage or resume; it's not a big deal, I'm just curious to know and then go and tell the service advisors at GM.

Welcome to the site!! We have other members from Montreal and Quebec.
For the cruise issue, when you turn off the engine all settings are erased and you will have to re-set it. Same if you turn off the cruise control and turn it back on.

Sounds like a BCM problem, but there are other possibilities. Time for a trip to the dealer.
