I did not know about the BCM connection, I am still used to old fashioned analog cars.
What I got from the links, and I did have to dig a bit, is do not mix orange and green. That seems to be what caused the problems, at least that's what GM stand is. It is very easy for me to believe that people would say "coolant is coolant" and never even know that the green stuff got put in to top off.

Don't I remember that one of the big coolant makers had a huge settlement about the green stuff? Maybe I am mixing them up, I do seem to remember it being almost impossible to buy any color coolant for while.

Well anyway I apologize for the warm air thoughts and for sounding like a flamer.

I found out a little more today, makes me feel a little better. Apparently it's GM's 3.1 and 3.6 (bigger motors than mine) having the issues. And GM has linked it to bad radiator caps. Apparently it let's coolant evaporate off, and the air in the system causes the coolant to break down more quickly than it should causing thick gooey gritty sludge in your cooling system. Anyway, today I got a hold of a scanner, and even though my CEL didn't come one I still had a P0128 Code. And I cleared it, then came in and did some more reading. And the conscientious is that my thermostat is bad. So I will go buy another one, and I suspect from what I have read is that there is an O-Ring in the middle of the thermostat that will be misaligned holding the thermostat just a hair open at all time slowing the warm up of the motor. Anyway, that's what I hope it is.

Plus I think the t-stat may be another of the PIA's to get to. There is a thread on this forum on replacing it.
