New to the forum Greenville Michigan

Hi I signed up once and didn't understand how to do things here. Since then I had joined metal detecting forums and understand a little better. I live in Greenville Michigan. Bought my 2006 HHR new in Grand Rapids Michigan. At 70,000 (a little more) I changed the passanger side front Wheel Bearing was noisy but not shakey. Bought new tires at nearly 90,000 miles on it. About that time the pin in the shifter wouldn't let me turn the key far enough to removed the key and I learned about the panal under the steering column so I could access the button to push to be able to remove the key. Now I am at 102,000 something and the engine is running rough . It was a all of a sudden thing . We went to leave the house and it started running rough one morning. I can't imagine the plugs going at the last minute with no sign of getting bad with lower gas mileage but I guess it could be. I read that it could be the ECM as well. Someone had changed out the plugs , coils or pack and finally took it to the dealer and it was the ECM. I wonder how many have had the problem of the pin for the micro switch in the shifter assembly like me and wheel bearings wearing out early. Other than that I haven't had any trouble with my HHR.
I am 63 legally blind with my sight going in the last 2 years I was born with Retinitus Pigmatosa. (tunnel vision0 I was told form age 15 I would or could be completely blind since then about ever 10 years when I would get a eye exam, never got any worse until I turned 60 or 61. I worked on cars since I was 16. I even went to Lansing Community Collage for auto repair in 1997 or 98 I was giving advice to the students at age 58 my instructor asked me why did you take theise classes you could have took a test and not had to do them. I didn't know. I ended up switching to taking classes for a associaate degree in auto body. I only wanted to go so I could learn to rebuild automatic trans axles and transmissions . Something to do in a home garage for cash.

@MikeWithHHR, if you would like to send me a private message with the VIN of your HHR, I would be happy to research my resources about the ignition concerns you’re having.

Welcome to another Michigander!

I haven't really had anything go wrong in the year and a half I've had mine. Hope your luck improves.
