Hi,
I've visited the forum a number of times for information and how to for some of the more common problems with this car. A bit of history about me...
Bought this car used almost a year ago. The car hasn't cost me a lot of money because I am able to do most repairs myself, but it has given me a lot of grief. This is probably the worst car I have owned in terms of reliability, but I do like it.
Owned other Chevy's in the past as well as Mitsubishi's, Mazda's, and Toyota's. Live in Vancouver, Canada.
Cheers.
Mark

Don't necessarily go by what you heard. We bought our 2006 in November 2005 and sold it about 7 1/2 years later. Other than the shifter replacement and the butyl patch repair (both under warranty) we only replaced tires the front hubs and brake pads in the time we owned it.

Welcome!
Nice to have you here!
Sorry to hear about the problems you have had with your HHR.
I am happy to hear that this site has helped you.
Sometimes you can have a car like the previous poster. Sometimes you have one like you have.
Because so many are built (of any car) it really is the "Luck of the Draw".
I was basically out of the auto repair business by the time the HHR was introduced. So, I did not have any occasion to work on them.
Some of my friends own them now, so I am really getting caught up!
