New to Forum & Thanks

Hey all, new to forum & wanted you all to know how great you guys are with the help posts on here. I'm a 2006 Black LT owner now, even swapped my wrangler for it & got it with 96,000 miles on it & have 120,000, my question is I really dont know any of the previous maintenance done on it or to it. Besides replacing sway bar links & oil changes have had little problems with it, little problems being bracket on sunroof breaking, can pop it up but not open it & my dash componets for 2 days have gone haywire but unhooked battery for 30 mins seemed to have solved that problem thanks to post on here. My question is Ive read manuel about transmission & it states its a sealed unit & never have to change fluid which seemes stranged to me, question is, is it possible to do this yourself? Im from New Jersey so what is the going rated to have fluid changed? and lastly how often do you recommend changing it after 1000,000 miles? Again thanks for all the great posts you guys are awesome in my eyes.

to the forum 2006BlackHHR27!

While the manual transmission is considered a sealed unit by GM, and there is no fluid change specified in the maintenance schedule for the '06 model year, you can change it.

Here's a link to a nice "How To" thread....
