New guy

so...I had an 06 GTi and subsequently fell in love with turbos and want to go back. I now have the fiance w/son combo going on so a 2 door hatch is out.

for the price, looks , and all the goodies the SS hhr comes with, it won out as my choice between, an A3, Mazdaspeed3, Magnum, 4 door gti

how rare are these? im in so cal and there are not too many to choose from, there are afew but i wish there was more of them out there.

also anything thing to look out for as a buyer (known problems?)

whats a good price for used w/decent mileage? im shooting for 15K

Welcome to the site. They are rare, the panels and AA5 are even more rare. 08 and some 09 had brake issues, there is a recall for that. HHR's have always been known for electrical issues, but other than that great cars, loads of fun, lots of room for a small car and good fuel economy. I don't know the American market for these cars as I live in Canada. Some fellow SS owners on here I'm sure would be able to help you in this area.

Good luck in your search.

to the forum chonface!

All I can say is read, read, and read some more. There's a ton of info here, and lots of brains to pick too.

When you find a prospective HHR, check it out very thoroughly, don't buy another guy's problems....but then again, don't be afraid of some "typical HHR things" like front end rattles, and keys sticking on occasion.

i got mine for 16,100 last year with 35,000 on it, 08 and loaded for everything that was offered in 08. IMO go for an 09, it offers more options than the 08

I got my 08 last April for $11k. I say get the SS, you will not be disappointed at all. Then contact Bill Hahn about an awesome bolt on upgrade to push you to 400hp
