New Guy in Middle Tennessee

Greetings, All. I have decided to look for an HHR, preferably an SS, as my second car. My primary can't haul the larger things I need to tote, like big screen TVs, computers, etc. Any tips on what to watch out for, any hidden rust areas, that sort of thing? A preliminary look at this forum makes me think I can find all of the information I need to take care of, and maybe modify, an HHR. Looking forward to interacting with the HHR community.

Welcome to the site! There are many things to be looking at with a 13 to 15 year old car.
compression, the turbo, correct brakes and suspension parts. There can be rust showing in the doors and up above the skirts and rear bumper

Well, I did it. I pulled the trigger on a 2011 HHR LT. Probably paid a little too much through Carvana, but they gave me so much for the Civic Sport Touring Hatchback I sold them that I don't feel too bad about it. I'm still coming out over $10K ahead. It is scheduled to arrive May 3rd and it goes to my local Chevy dealer the 5th for a thorough 'PDI', where the 'P' will stand for 'Post-'. From the pictures it looks very clean, but we shall see. I'm already looking at retro paint (or wrap) schemes and disc wheels. Pics when I have them.

Have you been paying attention to the problems Carvana has been having? Make sure they hand you a clean and clear title. Maybe check with your state authorities. I think they are prohibited from doing business in a couple of states, I can't remember for sure but I think either Ohio or Indiana. Bankruptcy seems imminent.

My personal experience won't let me trust anything a Chevy dealer says about the mechanical condition of a car. Not to mention a model that was discontinued 12 years ago.

What good is a POST Delivery Inspection?
