I went the lazy route for the push pins and got one of those special plier tools at Autozone while I was picking up my new bulbs.

The pin pliers are a great way to avoid scratched paint and broken pins!
Not a lazy route! I got mine at HF on sale for $5.99

And here I thought I was being lazy! haha good to know I made the right decision would definitely recommend the pliers; makes them come out clean and easy and more importantly not bended and in one piece.
