So i bought a used 2008 HHR in aug last year.(2012) I have always liked the style. Rotors are warped first day i drive it off the lot. In november it wont start and sounds OFF cranking. After some poking i realize the timing chain has slipped it seems. I go to the dealer and he says no i have never heard of that it's just flooded. oh and i only have 60000 miles or 90000 KM on it. He calls me back and says. The dealer calls me back and says bad news there was a big bang on startup seems the timing chain has slipped.(tensioner came loose) Oh really. he says its not to bad its a non interferance engine. It is not.... Now the head has to go out to a machine shop. Finally all back together and the cam shaft sensor fails. Ok. A week after that my wipers fail because of the crappy plastic bushings / connectors for the linkage. So i drill a hole a put a bolt in it works great. Is there anything else i need to know or am i done for a while? wow i love the car but never in my life have so many things gone wrong in 4 months on one car.
mind you the brakes and engine work were all paid for by GM. Oh and my Key FOBs quit working. The fix was a file folder cut to shape with aluminum tape in the middle dont forget to punch out the holes first.still works.
